If I am writing about something personal and would prefer that if I win my essay be published under a pseudonymn, is that okay?

The essays will not be published (unless you are a winner) and then in that case, we will offer the option of the winner to have their name attached to the essay or not.  In the past we have had winners choose to stay anonymous and that is fine with us.

The essays will be judged anonymously.  So even the multiple rounds of judges will not know the name of the writer of the essay.  When you submit your essay, your coversheet which contains your name and contact information, is separated from the actual essay and both are given a corresponding number.  This is to protect the privacy and integrity of the essay contest.

So to answer your question, yes, if you win you can have the essay published anonymously.  But you will need to fill in the contact information accurately for our files.

Let me know if you need further information.
