Hazel Thompson wrote a very revealing piece on children in prison for the International Journalism Festival. She was able to sneak into a jail in the Philippines with the help of PREDA (People’s Recovery, Empowerment Development Assistance Foundation–an important advocate of children in prison!). What she found is shocking. It is an excellent reminder that child imprisonment can have many different faces depending on the country in which it takes place. Take a look:
